ABOUT:
As Jack stepped inside, the heavenly scent of sweet bread and licorice wafted from the kitchen. Cookies! But it couldn't be. Mom put every penny dad sent home straight into the cookie jar. There hadn't been a single cookie in that jar for over a year...

IMPRESSION:
What a cute Christmas book with and even better message. The Legend of the Christmas Cookie is about sharing with others the true meaning of Christmas. Sharing with those less fortunate than ourselves about the birth of Christ the Lord, was the over-all message.  The little boy in the book named Jack has been missing his father while he was away for work, and he had been hoping for his return home. Instead a stranger came to the house looking to share a meal. Jack takes it upon himself to share his realizations about the true meaning of Christmas, and he delivered a cookie with a story behind it, ultimately sharing of Christ's birth.

A couple of simple recipes can be found in the back of the book also so we can make our own Christmas cookies.

I recommend this to all parents of young children, especially those looking to start new traditions with their children, and those looking to spread the true meaning of the Christmas with others.
