ABOUT:

Letters to My Daughters is meant to inspire you to to embrace the masterpiece of marriage GOD wants for you through letters the author answers filled with tough questions with warmth and honesty.

IMPRESSION:

First impression-- What an absolutely gorgeous book! I just love beautiful books. The cover work was very simple and feminine and that carried through to the inside of the book too.  You will find beautiful salmon pink watercolor and hints of gold throughout and the font for titles and strategically placed quotes of each chapter are beautifully done.  I really loved the illustrations as well.  There is something to be said for books that just are so beautiful to look at that make you WANT to read what is in/on the pages.   At least for me. I definitely judge books by their cover.

The book starts with An Open Letter to Daughters Everywhere from the author in which we learn about what lies inside. In this preface we read,

"Dear Daughters,
Across the landscape of time, women have depended on other women for answers to the questions we all face. We've bravely asked one another about husbands and children, about work and worth, about cooking and cleaning, about friendships, finances, fears and failures. And if we found ourselves in a time and place without anyone we could ask, we found that we were a bit lonely, a bit lost."

The author, who herself has been married for over 40 years, goes on to share that in 2001 she began this book as a series of emails to help with advice on marriage. She included all of her married daughters with the goal to encourage them as they began their new role as a wife.

In each chapter, you will read many letters starting with Dear Mom-question and followed by a Dear daughters/Love, Mom response/advice. The titles of each section really stood out to me, especially as they help guide each section and the associated letters within.

1. Marriage Is a Masterpiece
2. Marriage Is Like Fine Cuisine
3. Marriage Is Like Grand Architecture
4. Marriage Is Like Elegant Music
5. Marriage Is Like Beautiful Dancing
6. Marriage Is Like a Secret Garden
7. Marriage Is Like Masterful Photography
8. Marriage Is Like Watercolor Painting
9. Marriage Is for Ever After

What I am taking from this book overall is that GOD wants us to have a marriage that reflects his image.  With Him, all things are possible.  Sometimes we find ourselves wishing that our husbands and our own wife duties and responsibilities came with a manual. So through the help of our peers, and sometimes from those who have far more experience than us, written advice from others is a true treasure to have.

This is a fantastic book to own.
Hopefully one day my daughters will sit down and read it and appreciate it as well.

Let's celebrate this land we love!
Family-oriented preschool level children's book that encourages toddlers to learn to love and pray for our country.
(The United States)

IMPRESSION:
This little 20 page book encourages young children to be patriotic and understand the fun summertime things traditional families in The United States of America do to celebrate their love for our country, while praising GOD at the very same time.
The pages are colorful and the illustrations are simple.
This is a boardbook style book with a soft puffy cover that little kids love. I think this is a fantastic book to have on any bookshelf for children.
My daughters enjoyed this book and the fact that the font was big enough for them to read on their own.

Trade Paperback
Category: Art-Painting
Retails $21.99

ABOUT:
Camilla d'Errico is an Italian-Canadian comic illustrator and fine arts painter. She uses manga and pop surrealism as her inspiration for her works.   Her book Pop Painting is a guide-book that takes you behind the scenes  to cover the techniques and steps taken to bring to life Camilla's vision through her different inspirations.

IMPRESSION:
From cover to cover, this book is filled with vibrant and beautiful colorful works of art. The cover art is absolutely beautiful as is all of the paintings throughout. Inside will learn how to not only find and make use of your inspirations, you will learn how to move past your failures, and push boundaries.
You will also find all of her techniques, from how to achieve depth, to how to deal with rejection.
What I loved the most was the step-by-step examples of several pieces. She was very detailed and even included photographic steps to show how she brought her work to life past her sketches.

This is a great book for all contemporary artists to have in their collections.
I recommend this to everybody.
This also makes a fantastic table top book.
